Hollywood says “no thanks” to Enslaved CG film

Ninja Theory’s Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is not getting a Hollywood adaptation.

According to a recent report, the development studio pitched the idea of a fully CG film (using the Unreal Engine, which also powers the game), to movie-types, and they quickly said “thanks, but no thanks!”

Ninja Theory’s Tameem Antoniades said he, and the studio, had big hopes for the potential film.

“We were serious about it. We went to all the big studios in Hollywood and pitched the idea.”

Further, Antoniades said the idea alone, of rending scenes from a game to real time, was something the studio types just couldn’t wrap their brains around.

“They have no idea of what real time means,” he explains. “They just care about how good it looks,” he said.

Sorry folks, no film based on this game! Next, please.
