In a recent interview with UK games site MCV, EA’s senior Vice President for Europe, the extremely-Europeanly-named Jens Uwe Intat, predicted that sales of Sony’s console may finally bring its ubiquity in the UK ahead of the Xbox 360. He stated, “We could certainly see Sony come back – in the UK it’s still a head-to-head competition between PlayStation and Xbox, but on the continent Sony is traditionally stronger than Microsoft.”
Intat is “very happy” with this potential rise in PS3 ownership because, quite simply, more consoles = more people his company can sell games to.
The same cannot be said for Sony in North America, however. The 360 still leads the PS3 by about 10 million units, and, as the numbers show, that gap isn’t getting any smaller.
