Blizzard bans thousands

Blizzard’s made good on its promise; over 5,000 StarCraft II players have been either suspended or banned from playing the RTS due to their dishonest and cheating ways.

“The spirit of fair competition” is essential to the service, the developer reminds in the announcement, going further to point out that cheating and hacking can also lead to “stability and performance issues.”

In addition, assurances and warnings for the future were issued as well: “Maintaining a stable, safe, and secure online-gaming experience for legitimate players is a top priority for us, and we’ll be continuing to keep watch on and take action as needed.”
