In a series of tweets, PlatinumGames has given its biggest indication of a Bayonetta sequel coming to a console near you “when the time is right.”
Studio co-founder Atsushi Inaba responded to a non-new, Twitter-styled conversational piece between co-founder Hideki Kamiya and fans of the heel-shooting action game in which the latter answered, “I believe so,” to the question “Will there be a Bayonetta 2?”
“There is no concrete plan or schedule that we can talk about,” said Inaba. “It’s not like Kamiya said, ‘Okay, we’re going to make this.'”
“Bayonetta is definitely a special IP for us. We loved creating that game. We think it was a really good game. We would love to make a sequel to it when the time is right. That’s all we can say.”
Given the unexpected, yet deserving critical acclaim the game received when released, it wouldn’t surprise anybody if a sequel ever came out. But Twitter is what it is, which means we should take this with a pinch of salt.
