NBA Jam to feature Obama, Palin, and more

Presidential debates are boring. Basketball is exciting–it’s just the way the world works. This truth only makes the fact that political figures included in the next NBA Jam as playable characters is pure satirical bliss.

Bringing back the old tradition of using political icons, the new NBA Jam promises to have a full team of democrats and a full team of republicans. On the democrats, Jam will have President Obama, Al Gore, Hillary and Bill Clinton, and Joe Biden. As for the republicans, George W. Bush, John McCain, Dick Cheney, and Sarah Palin will make their debut on the court.

The avatars will feature unique jerseys, home courts, and even facial expressions to sweeten the deal–it’s like Super Smash Bros., only it includes characters who are somehow more famous than Mario.

There is a bit of bad news, however, as these features have only been announced for the Wii version of the game. Nothing has been set in stone for the fate of 360 and PS3 owners, so keep those eyes and ears open for more news on that venture.
