inXile Entertainment had a “falling out” over Hei$t

Before developer inXile Entertainment had started work on Hunted: The Demon’s Forge they also had a rather promising game called Hei$t in the pipeline. The title looked to be a wacky shooter centered around back robberies in 1969. Sadly Codemasters officially binned the game back in January this year and the developer has since gotten cozy with Bethesda on Hunted.

Maxx Kaufman, inXile co-founder briefly mentioned the situation to us at Eurogamer Expo this year, saying: “We had a falling out on that last project and it didn’t work out unfortunately.”

Codemasters issued a pretty harsh statement when they cancelled the game that claimed they were only focused on high quality titles, suggesting that Hei$t obviously wasn’t meeting their standards, but it hasn’t dampened Kaufman’s spirits: “We’re back and this is what we have,” he said, proudly displaying Hunted.

We’ll have to wait until early next year to see if Hunted is a return to form for the developer.
