Medal of Honor‘s first few days on the North American market have served it well, EA’s sent word ahead or tomorrow’s official European launch.
According to early internal indicators, the shooter is off to “a great commercial start” with “major mass merchandising retail chains already exceeding their Day 1 forecasts.” Retail response has been “overwhelmingly positive,” the mega publisher points out, while confident that the title’s positioned well for an “outstanding holiday” performance.
Bob McKenzie, GameStop’s senior VP of merchandising, agrees: “We anticipate Medal of Honor to be one of the biggest video game titles launched this year.”
Critical response hasn’t been quite as good as the apparent sales, though. While the company praises several EU outlets’ 8/10 and 8.5/10 scores as “massive acclaim amongst some of the world’s toughest critics,” the game’s attached to a tad underwhelming 75-76 out of 100 average on Metacritic.
