Xbox Live spreading to new territories

Xbox Live is expanding its service to nine new markets, Microsoft’s announced.

Starting next month, on November 10th, Russia, Poland, South Africa, Greece, Czech Republic, Hungary, Brazil, Colombia, and Chile will all get their own native services, allowing residents of said countries to migrate their accounts to their homeland. There are a few things to know before doing that, though: (a) changing countries is irreversible (b) certain services may become unavailable (c) purchased content/add-ons will not be available for redownload “at this point in time.” Not exactly enticing, is it?

Xbox Live is currently available in 25+ countries, has 25 million registered members, and pulled in an estimated $1 billion in 2009 alone.
