Blizzard taking StarCraft II hackers to court

In order to protect the real-time strategy hit StarCraft II, developer Blizzard is going beyond just banning hackers. Blizzard has lawyered-up and is preparing to sue three notorious hackers known as “Permaphrost,” “Cranix,” and “Linuxawesome.” While the coolness of their handles is still up for debate, no one can deny the danger that the terrible three present to Blizzard’s strategy game.

According to the developer, the hackers were able to break in almost immediately after StarCraft II’s release and do “irreparable” damage. If Blizzard has their way, the hackers, who live Canada and Peru, will have to remove their hacks from any site that distributes within Los Angeles County, where the case is being decided.
