NPD has released their list of the Top 10 best-selling US retail games for the third-quarter of 2010, and it is no surprise that Halo: Reach and New Super Mario Bros. Wii are leading the pack.
Halo dethroned Mario who, up until March, had been leading overall SKU sales. Not surprisingly, Halo: Reach was also the top-selling game of September 2010, when it was launched to outstanding sales.
Sitting at number 3, however, is newcomer John Marston with Red Dead Redemption. Nice to see a new face doing well amongst the goliaths. Will Halo continue to dominate through the rest of the year? Will the much-anticipated Fallout: New Vegas follow in Fallout 3‘s sales footsteps? Don’t forget Call of Duty: Black Ops coming next month as well; it may be a tough battle for Halo to hold the top spot. Then again, Halo is all about tough battles, isn’t it?
