Just when we thought everything was good in the gaming world, CD Projekt, developer of The Witcher 2, goes and drops a bombshell on us. For as long as we can remember, the sequel to the PC only The Witcher was set to arrive on PCs and consoles alike. Granted, it was well known that the console version would be a later arrival, but they were coming to PS3 and 360 nonetheless. Now, according to senior producer Tomasz Gop, the game might be PC exclusive indefinitely.
“All I can say for now is that it’s not likely for any POTENTIAL [sic] console release to be simultaneous [with the PC game],” Gop said, clarifying the previously known stance on the release timing. What is troubling is the fact that he gave a steadfast “no comment” when asked about the console version’s status.
During past interviews and talks, Gop has been forthcoming in discussing the console version, even going so far as calling the idea of them abandoning the PS3 and 360 “pretty weird.”
