This year’s Cataclysm expansion won’t be the last World of Warcraft players will be in for. There will be more to come and, if you hear the MMO’s senior producer John Lagrave tell it, it’s going to be “f’ing awesome.”
When chatting about how Blizzard could possibly top the December release, Lagrave told GI: “The thing we’re trying to do in the next expansion is pretty f’ing awesome.”
While it doesn’t sound like it’s too far along just yet, there is a central idea hovering around at Blizzard which “makes me happy and gets me excited,” he continued, “and it makes everyone else happy and excited.”
“When everybody gets happy and excited, we know we’re on to something. We don’t know if it’s going to be the final thing, but we know something good is coming. Will it top Cataclysm? I think it’s pretty freakin’ awesome. I’m really hopeful.”
Going by the release intervals of the add-ons so far, whatever comes next could be releasing in the second half of 2012. Which should be right around the time the studio may open up about its next MMO.
