Microsoft: HD remakes not that important

Think HD remakes are all the rage? Not if you’re Microsoft Game Studios.

During an interview with IGN last week, Microsoft Game Studios Vice President Phil Spencer was asked about HD remakes of popular Xbox titles such as Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 coming to the 360. “I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad idea,” he said.

Could that mean HD remakes of these games could be coming soon? Not very likely. “We obviously have a lot of new things going on,” he said, then added that “there could be possibilities for that, but I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about it.” Don’t be discouraged though, 360 owners. Ubisoft is releasing an HD-updated Beyond Good and Evil next year. Depending on how that sells, ol’ Softie may change their minds down the road.
