Fans of War’s trip through the apocalypse in the first Darksiders are going to have to hold out on the game’s cliffhanger ending a while longer; THQ have delayed Darksiders 2. The publisher confirmed the slip to IGN, revealing that the game will now release in early fiscal 2013, which begins in April 2012. Originally the project had been slated for a fiscal 2012 date.
A company spokesperson said: “We want to release a key title in each quarter over the next two and a half years. We have moved UFC Undisputed to Q4 of fiscal year 2012. That was the original target for Darksiders 2. Therefore, we decided to move Darksiders 2 to early fiscal year 2013.”
At least this means the developers will have got time to give War a bit of a polish. Besides, the original game was out at the start of this year; a 2012 sequel is perhaps a bit early.
