Battlefield: Bad Company 2 players have reasons to rejoice; DICE has revealed four brand new(ish) multiplayer maps for the shooter, an announcement that we’re sure comes totally coincidentally less than a day ahead of competitor Call of Duty: Black Ops‘ release at midnight tonight.
The collection goes by VIP Map Pack 7, which means they’ll be available sans price; as the previous six packs, all four maps will be available free-of-charge to those who’ve activated their in-game VIP codes.
Included are Oasis and Harvest Day (remakes of the first Bad Company‘s multiplayer, playable in Rush, Conquest, Squad Rush, Squad Deathmatch), plus Cold War and Heavy Metal (adopted from the second game’s single-player campaign, playable in Conquest, Squad Rush, and Squad Deathmatch).
The two remakes are said to make full use of the new game’s upped visuals and lighting, will include remastered sounds, and of course Destruction 2.0.
There’s no release date available yet, or even info on whether it’ll release before or after this winter’s (paid) Vietnam expansion. But it’s safe to say there’s life left in the shooter yet.
