Shigeru Miyamoto has seemingly confirmed the existence of Wii Music 2.
Nintendo has previously said it may well return to the idea of the first game and make an attempt at a better execution, but never suggested work is actually underway. That’s not the case any more, it seems.
“There’s a lot of potential still in Wii Music, I think. Because we’re going to change it up, a new interface is coming, and all of that,” the Mario man said in a recent review, apparently confirming that a sequel is actually in production. As the interviewer responded with “Wow, I think that’s breaking news, then,” no retraction or clarification of perhaps-misunderstood/translated comments came forth.
Still, as EG points out, there’s always the chance of something getting lost in translation. We’ll update should Nintendo choose to make a comment.
