Microsoft’s Kinect is making a splash across the pond, according to Eurogamer. The hit Xbox 360 peripheral has already sold over one million units worldwide, which includes stand-alone and hardware bundle sales of the product, and seems to have doubled system sales in the United Kingdom. “360 doubled last week and it was already selling a lot”, says an unnamed senior publishing source.
This boost in sales widens the gap between the competitive Xbox 360 and PS3 sales. The source adds: “Wii and PS3 have been beaten by 360 consistently over the past few months [although] Wii is still outselling PS3 – the numbers are going the wrong way for Nintendo year-on-year but it’s certainly not a disaster.”
The official numbers have yet to be revealed, but Microsoft is hoping to sell 5 million units by the end of the holiday season.
