Composer Jason Graves to return for the music of Dead Space 2

Music nuts can rest easy as BAFTA-winning composer Jason Graves is set to make horrifyingly gorgeous music for Dead Space 2.

Graves’ soundtrack features a thematic movement entitled “Lacrimosa”, a string quartet concerto that will appear throughout the game to act as a light motif.

“The score really runs the gamut as you play through the game,” Graves says, “There are much bigger and scarier pieces along with quieter, more personal moments to counterbalance them.  I wrote for string quartet to portray Isaac’s vulnerable side.  It’s quite the emotional arc, but of course still done in a very ‘Dead Space’ way.”

Look for Graves’ work in the game come January 2011.
