UK retailers unconvinced on 3D in 2011

The big 3D push has hit a snag in the UK; PCR research reports that out of 100 independent UK retailers surveyed, 73 aren’t confident that it will take off in 2011. One retailer even told the site that “no way are people going to sit in their living rooms watching TV in 3D glasses, not a chance.”

Others felt the feature lost its magic off of the big screen: “In the cinema, yes I can see the point, but I haven’t had anybody in my shop asking for it.”

Does this spell doom for Sony’s 3D PS3 push? What about the 3DS? It seems like we’re running round in circles at the moment, wondering if 3D will ever be successful.
