Already bored out of your mind with all the Christmas celebrations going on? Fear not, EA’s just announced that a demo for Visceral’s upcoming horror sequel Dead Space 2 will be made available worldwide on Xbox Live on December 21st and on PlayStation Network (NA) the same day, with the European PSN getting a piece of the space savagery the day after, on December 22nd.
The demo will have players take control of our favorite engineer Isaac Clarke and lead him through the Church of Unitology, a presumably “safe” place until the Necromorph outbreak on the Sprawl infests the place. Available will be new tools including the new Javelin gun, updated stasis recharge mechanic and enhanced telekinesis ability, not to mention Isaac’s new advanced suit equipped with jets allowing him 360 degrees of movement in zero-g space.
“The holidays are a great time to enjoy all forms of entertainment, and we can’t wait to give horror and action adventure gamers a taste of what awaits them in Dead Space 2,” said Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer of the Dead Space franchise. “Releasing the demo five weeks before launch will not only re-connect players with our hero Isaac Clarke, but will also give them the opportunity to experience firsthand various jaw-dropping scenarios. It’s gonna be awesome.”
It will be awesome, it will be…
