Harmonix, makers of Rock Band and Dance Central, has been sold to…itself, according to the site.
Previously owned by Viacom and MTV Networks, Harmonix is now an independently and privately owned studio. They will still support their previous Rock Band releases, as well as continue adding downloadable add-ons to both it and Dance Central.
“We’re excited to be returning to our roots as an independent and privately owned studio,” John Drake, manager of communications for Harmonix, wrote in the announcement, also teasing some unannounced projects we should be “pumped about.”
Looks like they’ll keep on rockin’ then.
