Super Meat Boy WiiWare cancelled

Wii fans hoping for their own version of the indie hit Super Meat Boy will have to find another way to have a merry Christmas. That’s because Team Meat has announced that there will be no WiiWare version of Super Meat Boy coming. A disc version is still possible, but that’s not looking too hot either.

Team Meat announced on Friday: “We are looking in to retail Wii, bit it’s also looking grim. Still looking though.”

For those who already own Super Meat Boy on Xbox 360 or PC there is an extensive content update coming in January that will include a level creator and an online portal for users to share their brain-children. Although it’s still a bummer that there’s no Super Meat Boy 2, this update will at least allow SMB fans to get the very most out of the original game.
