Minecraft is already proving to be a runaway hit and seems to be gaining more momentum. The indie dev has added a few employees, settled into some new office space and is now reportedly calling in the help of another MMO developer.
Eskil Steenberg, the man behind PC MMO Love (full overview here), tells Eurogamer that Markus “Notch” Persson, the indie dev behind Minecraft, recently asked him to lend a hand. Steenberg states that he will “probably help him with some graphic stuff.”
Although reportedly contributing to this project, Steenberg discusses his intention to maintain self-employment. Asked if he’d accept a job from Minecraft, he responded “No I don’t think so. I wouldn’t want to be hired by anybody because I have too many things I want to do myself. That’s the problem.”
Persson has also stated that “we have no plans on hiring Eskil and he has no plans on working here at Mojang.”
