You may know Peter Molyneux for his impressive backlog of games, including Populous, Theme Park, Black and White, and (most recently) Fable. Either that or you know him for his remarkable skill to hype a product to kingdom come. We’re guessing he’s receiving GDC’s lifetime achievement award for the first of those two highlights.
The Lionhead boss is set to pick up GDC’s ultimate award at a ceremony on March 2nd. Event director Megan Scavio was more than happy about this year’s choice: “Peter is a remarkable asset to the games industry, and truly embodies everything that the Lifetime Achievement Award represents. We’re proud to honor someone who has had such a profound impact on the industry, through his boundless enthusiasm and profound talent in creating games about choice and interactivity that the entire world loves to play.”
Molyneux received the BAFTA equivalent of the award in 2009; his mantle piece must be getting full.
