Crysis 2 multiplayer demo inbound for Xbox Live Gold subscribers on Jan. 25

Gold subscribers of Xbox Live are about to get some Crysis 2 VIP treatment in the form of an exclusive multiplayer demo. Starting on Jan. 25, Gold subscribers will gain access to one map, Skyline, and two game modes: Team Instant Action and Crash Site.

Team Instant Action is basically your standard, kill or be killed team deathmatch. Crash Site is akin to CoD’s Domination where players battle for control of several drop pods that have landed on various alien-torn ruins of NYC. The demo follows the Xbox 360-only multiplayer beta from back in October.

No official word on whether a multiplayer demo will land on PC or PS3. An EA spokesperson tells TVGB that Xbox Live is “all we’re talking about right now.”

The full version of Crysis 2 multiplayer will include six gameplay modes and 12 maps set across recognizable locations in New York City. Everyone collectively cross your fingers for a map depicting the hipster ruins of Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Crysis 2 is due out on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 22 in North America and the 25th in Europe. In the meantime, check out the newly-released multiplayer trailer above to get your fix.
