September 13th and 15th, the NA and EU release dates for id Software’s Rage, are less than nine months away. Sadly, between now and then, the odds of a demo are extremely unlikely.
In a recent interview, Bethesda’s VP of PR Pete Hines said that while it’s something that’s considered for every game they publish, it isn’t always a possibility, then flat out saying: “I don’t see a demo for RAGE on the cards.”
Bummer, but not wanting to crush hope completely and wholly, he adds: “I guess it’s not a zero percent chance, but it’s somewhere down on that end of the spectrum.” So… pretty much crushed with a light pulse? Here’s hoping for a little game time with it at the slew of trade conventions headed our way. Of course E3 is in mind, but more likely it’ll have a playable presence at id’s own annual QuakeCon. But for the masses… over 230 days to go.
