The busy bees over at PlatinumGames never stop working; just a few months after the release of Vanquish (their second game of 2010) they’ve revealed their next title; Max Anarchy.
Max Anarchy is described by producer Atsushi Inaba as a Massively Multiplayer Melee Fighting Action game. Sounds like a competition to fit as many buzz words into a genre as possible but it could be interesting. There’s going to be a “large number” of people fighting at one time, Inaba told Japanese mag Famitsu. The game apparently compares to other games in the fighting genre, but Inaba noted a distinct difference to Spikeout, an old arcade brawler from Sega.
There will be a story mode in place and co-op too, but no details on the actual plot of characters other than MadWorld’s Jack making an appearance. The game’s set to release in the fall for both PS3 and 360; hopefully we’ll get a mountain of details before then.
