UK Charts: Dead Space 2 at the top, crushes predecessor

EA’s horror shooter Dead Space 2 has debuted at the top of the UK’s weekly all-formats chart, shoving aside last week’s leader LittleBigPlanet 2 while enjoying a 70% increase in week-one sales when compared to 2008’s Dead Space. We’d say that qualifies as ‘significantly outselling the original‘.

Rest of the chart has seen a bit of a shake up as well; FIFA 11 and Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood each climb a spot, to #3 and #4 respectively, while Call of Duty: Black Ops slips to #5 (its lowest ever position) with Just Dance 2 on its tail at #6. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit passes three positions to finish at #7.

Mass Effect 2 and Gran Turismo 5 have dropped out of the top 10. The two are now at #11 and #14.
