It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that ever since Activision decided to pull the plug on Guitar Hero, which was officially yesterday, they’d pull the plug on delivering downloadable content for it as well. Given Guitar Hero was having a hard time keeping up with its competitor, Rock Band, with licensing tracks, there pretty much ceased to exist competition anyway, a reason Activision saw fit to use as one of the most prominent factors for the franchises ultimate downfall during the company’s earnings call yesterday.
The news hit via the official Guitar Hero Twitter , via an update that read: “we will release the previously announced DLC track and mix packs for February, but we will not be able to release new DLC packs.”
So there it is, one more release in February, and it all stops after that. How will we cope with the future lack of plastic instruments?
