Ninja Theory’s Enslaved: Odyssey to the West won critical praise when it released in early October, but it only managed to push 460,000 units thus far, which is far from the success publisher Namco Bandai hoped for.
Namco Vice President of marketing, Carlson Choi, told Siliconera that Enslaved suffered because of the launch window it was released during.
“It launched in the midst of a busy holiday season,” he said, adding that the title “had the quality needed to address gamers,” but that wasn’t the issue.
In the end, Choi said it was all about “getting into the market at the right time.”
Have you played Enslaved? Did it deserve to sell better?
