Microsoft and Nokia’s recent announcement regarding the former’s Windows Phone 7 software being used by the latter’s smartphones has resulted in a massive surge of game software developed for the mobile OS; 66 percent, market research firm Flurry Analytics has measured, saying the spike occurred following the deal’s announcement last week.
The firm has been tracking WP7 data for a few weeks and says it double-checked the data to make sure the rise “was not an aberration”.
“With spiking support for Nokia and Microsoft, developers are showing us they believe,” a spokesperson said.
