Quantic Dream boss David Cage has been very clear in saying that there will be no Heavy Rain sequel, with good reason. In this industry though, fans don’t take ‘no’ for an answer, so we were eager to talk find out where Heavy Rain 2 might have gone. Having picked up the award for Best Story at last night’s GAME BAFTAs, Cage told TVGB a little about what he would have done had he developed a sequel.
“Sony is a very good publisher and they’re clever enough to know that pushing us to do something is not the best idea,” Cage began. “But what I would have done probably is keep the city and tell another story with four other characters and just keep the background, the city as the main character. I’d keep the rain, keep the environments, and just tell other stories of other people.”
No more adventures for Ethan Mars and co, then. Given Heavy Rain‘s multiple endings, there would’ve probably been no way around that anyway.
Quantic Dream are at work on new projects at the moment, which they’re very hush-hush about.
