Apple’s iPad 2 launch did expectedly well. The company shifted close to 1 million units during its first weekend out on the streets, and similar success is bound to repeat itself once the tablet launches worldwide on the 25th this month. Except in Japan.
Due to the effects of the earthquake that occurred in the area a few days ago, Apple has postponed the launch of their “magical” iDevice version 2, indefinitely. “We are delaying the launch of the iPad 2 in Japan while the country and our teams focus on recovering from the recent disaster,” said spokesperson Natalie Kerris.
Apple is currently taking donations for the American Red Cross through iTunes with 100 percent of the proceeds aimed directly to fund relief efforts.
