The first few details on Human Head’s Prey 2 have snuck out this week as gaming magazines got some time with the game. Info from the latest issue of Game Reactor has been posted on NeoGaf, with some interesting points being raised.
First off the game impresses by revealing there will be no unnecessary multiplayer modes, meaning Human Head can give their full attention to a great single-player campaign. Said campaign has been inspired by the likes of Mirror’s Edge, Mass Effect, Riddick, and Blade Runner. Expect quite a futuristic feel with a life-like approach to the handling, then.
New character Killiam Samuels takes the reigns this time too. His day job is both prison guard and sheriff, so he should be prepared for the job. The developers themselves have said: “If the first Prey was the Luke Sywalker version of the story, Prey 2 is Bobba Fett’s story”, and also explained that the three-year wait has been down to the project restarting several times. It will be open world and there’s a Killzone-like cover system in place.
There’s also the promise of DLC post-launch (as there always is) and a reassured release of 2012. We’ll see you then, Prey 2.
