EA’s free-to-play champ Ben Cousins has announced his exit from the company.
Taking it to Twitter (via), the former EA Easy Studio general manager wrote: “[Battlefield Play4Free] launches this week and it’s time for me to leave EA.”
The now-free man worked for the giant for four years and was also responsible for another free-to-play title, Battlefield Heroes, which recently crossed the seven million registered users mark.
Cousins also made headlines just earlier in the week when he shared his views on boxed retail titles. “I can’t think of anything more exploitative than gating all of your content behind having to pay someone $60. That’s a really harsh business model if you think about it objectively,” he said.
No word on where the man’s headed next.
