It’s been almost a year since Capcom revealed Mega Man Universe, their build-your-own Mega Man game, and little has been heard since – until today. Capcom has announced the game’s cancellation due to “various reasons.”
Originally scheduled for a spring 2011 release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Mega Man Universe seemed to be the marriage of the Capcom library with LittleBigPlanet capabilities. Featuring the ability to customize the main character by equipping various parts from Capcom characters and creating and sharing custom levels made with design tools, Mega Man Universe could have brought new fans to the Mega Man fold.
Sadly, it’s not to be.
