It’s been a while since we last heard or saw anything from Red 5 Studios’ Borderlands-meets-StarCraft online first/third-person action shooter Firefall, but when we did, we liked what we saw. Not only did it look pretty, it sounded pretty and played pretty too, something that apparently hasn’t changed according to the self-boasting dev diary above, put together after PAX East 2011. And why not? The game looks to deviate from the more realistic approach taken by so many others, and with an MMO-ish feel to it, there’s no doubt it’ll appeal to a lot of gamers. After all, we all enjoy variation.
Firefall adopts a free-to-play model and is scheduled for a winter 2011 release on PC.
