Minecraft sells 2 million

Indie developer Mojang’s Minecraft technically isn’t getting an official release until this November, but that hasn’t stopped the alpha and beta versions of the first-person sandbox game from selling 2 million units.

Minecraft was first released in alpha form back in 2009, but it’s sold like hotcakes since then and is now on pace to break 3 million units over the summer. It’s also made a ton of money for the developer, which has allowed them to start work on their next project, even before the official launch of Minecraft.
