StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm, the follow-up to last summer’s Wings of Liberty and the middle child of the StarCraft II trilogy, will get its first media showing next month. Specifically, the single-player will be on display, Kotaku’s been alerted, and definitely not any additions or changes to the multiplayer as Blizzard notes.
There’s always BlizzCon in October.
Following Wings of Liberty, which delivered a single-player campaign from the Terran perspective, Heart of the Swarm will focus on the doings of Kerrigan and the Zerg, which will lead to the Protoss-focused final chapter. How it all ends though, not even Blizzard knows yet; the studio said in August last year it was “just now getting serious” about the second installment and was in the “still figuring things out” phase in October.
Don’t expect it to hit shelves in 2011, certainly, as the studio’s all but officially confirmed not once, not twice, but thrice.
