Despite a few reports of slow sales and technical issues, Nintendo has claimed that their 3DS is off to a “smooth start” worldwide.
Sales of 1.06 million in Japan, 1.32 million in the Americas, and 1.23 in other territories (read: Europe) have totaled up to 3.61 million units sold worldwide. A further 9.43 million 3DS games have been sold since launch.
The figures were revealed in the company’s end of financial year sales data today. The same data that formalized the Wii successor.
New handheld + new console = a fantastic E3 from Nintendo. At least we hope so anyway.
