Microsoft have made it more than clear that the tech behind the controller-free Kinect could be improved via system updates, and know we’ve been given a glimpse of just what those updates could include.
A recently published patent from the company describes a personalized “gesture-based system” for a Kinect-like device. Using the system, a player could come up with their own ways to issue commands to the device. One example explains a user preferring to make a checked mark instead of a cross to signal completed actions on the system. This could provide greater accuracy for the device over time. Apparently this tech could even carry over to other devices, though don’t ask us how.
It’s all a bit too head scratchy for us. But if it makes Kinect better then hey, why not?
