EA exec Shappert heads to Zynga

Electronic Arts executive John Schappert has left the company to take an executive position at Facebook game developer Zynga, according to Reuters.

Schappert originally began working for EA in 1991, followed by a stint with Microsoft before rejoining EA in 2009. Schappert is not the only EA refugee – the company has lost four executives in the past five weeks. Zynga, based out of San Francisco, has made a name with its “free to play” Facebook games including Farmville and Cityville, and is currently valued between $7 and $10 billion.
