LucasArts, the team behind all those many, many Star Wars games and a few adventure gems like the Monkey Island series have announced that they have become the latest in a long list of developers to begin using Unreal Engine 3.
Epic’s hugely popular game engine has been the pick of the litter for many a game this console generation, and LucasArts are hoping that their new multi-year deal will bring them the critical success that they’ve been falling short on in the past few years (remember The Force Unleashed II?).
Zak Phelps, director of technology at LucasArts explained: “Unreal Engine 3 is a forward-looking solution that shortens the path between inspiration and execution on a wide variety of gaming platforms. We are thrilled to add another exceptional tool to our technology mix.”
