Sony have finally let us know that “some services” will be returning to PSN next week, following the now infamous outage of the service. We don’t know what exactly will be returning come May 3, but we do know that it will be accompanied by a new firmware update.
No new features for this one we don’t think. Rather the update will require users to change their password, something that was recommended by Sony earlier. It will also make the system compatible with the new PSN which is being physically rebuilt. An FAQ on the PS Blog reveals that: “moving our network infrastructure and data center to a new, more secure location, which is already underway.”
