Volition founder steps down

Volition founder Mike Kulas is stepping down from his role as head of the development studio after 18 years of service, according to GamesIndustry. The studio he helped build was originally formed as Parallax Entertainment, and was later split into Volition and Outrage Entertainment before being picked up by THQ in 1998. Volition is known for successful franchises Saints Row and Red Faction, the latter of which has a sequel (Red Faction: Armageddon) releasing in early June.

Kulas left on his own terms, and will be succeeded by current VP of product development Dan Cermak.
