There’s a slim chance that we won’t be able to get our hands on the much anticipated The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time 3DS remake come launch.
For now it sounds like these rumors are limited to Japan, but trusted Eastern news outlet, Sinobi, is reporting that Nintendo will only be shipping “extremely small” quantities of the game at first. Retailers will receive a set amount of copies, regardless of their size, and they won’t be able to order extra units due to fears of overstocking. This was apparently the case with the last Zelda outing on DS, Spirit Tracks.
Again, we’re hoping that this one just applies to Japan. Surely Nintendo know that, in the West at the very least, a remake to one of the greatest games of all time is going to sell like, well, one of the greatest games of all time. We’ll have to wait for Ocarina‘s launch on June 17 in the UK and 19 in the US to find out.
