PlayStation Network and Qriocity may not be the only services compromised in the recent data breach. Sony has temporarily shut down Sony Online Entertainment, the MMO home to the likes of DC Universe Online, citing concerns over the recent “intrusion.”
The brief statement posted on Station.com reads: “We have had to take the SOE service down temporarily. In the course of our investigation into the intrusion into our systems we have discovered an issue that warrants enough concern for us to take the service down effective immediately. We will provide an update later today (Monday).”
This comes on the heels of Sony’s statement last week that “to the best of our knowledge” SOE customer data was safe.
The shut down may just be a precautionary measure, but it doesn’t look good at the moment.
