Mass Effect 3 delayed to Q1 2012

In what’s bound to be one of the more disappointing delays of 2011, BioWare’s Mass Effect 3 has been pushed into early 2012, now landing in the first three months of the new year. The second sequel was originally meant to grace the PS3, 360 and PC this holiday season.

Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the series broke the news (as found on the official forums), saying: “Today we have confirmed that Mass Effect 3 will be released in the first three months of 2012. The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone’s expectations.”

Sad face. Two new images have been released as sort-of compensation for the delay (in addition to the ones from earlier today). They’re not much to talk about other than a more detailed look at Shepard, Liara and someone who we assume is Kaiden. Check them out in the gallery.
