With its brilliant facial animation system, its large open-world gameplay, and its Rockstar pedigree (see what I did there?), L.A. Noire is a big game. So big, in fact, that it will take up three discs in its Xbox 360 version, as opposed to the singular Blu-Ray disc required for the PS3 version. Luckily, however, the disc swaps will come at “natural breaks in between cases” according to Rockstar rep Jeronimo Barrera.
“L.A. Noire was always going to be a massive game, from the size and detail of the world to the length of the cases, and of course, the sheer amount of MotionScan data required for the faces of over 400 actors in-game,” Barrera told Kotaku. “To tell the story and make the game we wanted to make, we knew that it was going to take an entire single layer Blu-ray disc and three Xbox discs.”
