Now that Crysis 2 is out of the door there’s going to be a lot of chatter about what developer Crytek does next. They are of course at work on the 360 exclusive Codename Kingdoms but, with multiple studios around the world, are they up to anything else?
Rumors and speculation on other projects can start here, as managing director Avni Yerli confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that the dev’s Budapest studio would be changing somewhat. He stated: “we can confirm that our Budapest studio is getting a new direction and focus.”
There are reports of layoffs as well; 30-35 of 80 are the believed figures. The studio itself is now rumored to be at work on games for tablet devices; a first for the company. Their previous work on Kingdoms has been moved over to a Frankfurt studio. Crytek sure do have a lot of studios in interesting places, don’t they?
